Our Founding Story

Clean and Clear was founded in 2015 by Keegan Couillard with a clear vision: to bring professionalism, accountability, and genuine care to an industry that often fell short in those areas. What started with a few tools in a college apartment and garage has grown into one of Minnesota’s top-rated exterior cleaning companies — serving over 3,500 customers annually across the Twin Cities and surrounding region.

Keegan’s path to entrepreneurship began early. At just 13, he was working in telemarketing selling home phone service plans. From there, he managed a restaurant and later became a nursing assistant — experiences that deeply shaped his understanding of empathy, responsibility, and the importance of showing up for people. Originally intending to pursue a career in medicine, Keegan entered college to become a nurse or doctor. But along the way, he discovered a different calling: business.

He realized he could still serve people — just in a new way. That mindset inspired him to switch majors and launch Clean and Clear while still in school, newly married, and adjusting to life as a first-time father.

Before founding the company, Keegan spent time cleaning restaurant windows with a friend. It was honest, hands-on work that taught him the importance of consistency, attention to detail, and integrity. But he also saw a common problem: too many companies failed to take care of their customers. They lacked accountability, cut corners, and ignored concerns. Keegan saw a need — and he was determined to fill it.

Clean and Clear was built to be different. From day one, the mission has been to raise the standard in exterior cleaning by putting customers first and delivering consistently excellent service. That mindset earned the company Thumbtack’s 2015 Top Exterior Property Cleaning Company in its very first year — after servicing over 200 residential and commercial properties.

Today, Clean and Clear is a trusted name in the Twin Cities. Our team works on everything from single-family homes to hospitals, apartment complexes, and high-rise buildings. We continue to invest in our people, our equipment, and our training — always aiming to meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
